The Austrian Embassy in the United States cooperates through its Press and Information Service with the Austrian Cultural Fora in New York and Washington, DC and the Centers for Austrian Studies to investigate and highlight the many connections between Austria and the United States primarily through the lenses of social science and history. Current and ongoing research projects include Towards the American Century: Austrians in the United States in cooperation with the Austrian Marshall Plan Center for European Studies at the University of New Orleans, investigating Austrian immigration to the U.S. from the 17th century until today. Other areas of ongoing inquiry focus on the Austrian image and nation brand in the United States, and also include explorations into areas like digital diplomacy and communications.
In addition, the Austrian Press and Information Service publishes New Austrian Information, which has been covering all aspects of Austrian-American relations since 1948.
